The Quran as Problem Solving

Majalahnabawi.com – In the Tafsir Ibn Kathir, authored by Imam Ibn Kathir, it is explained that the Quran serves as guidance for mankind and as a guidebook for life. In the Quran, Surah al-Baqarah, verse 185, Allah SWT says:

 … ه‍ُدًى لِّلنَّاسِ وَ بَيِّنَاتٍ مِنَ الهُدٰى وَ ْالفُرْقَان …

… a guidance for the people and clear proofs of guidance and criterion… (Al-Baqarah: 185)

The Quran as a guide for humanity and an explanation of guidance and discernment. This is praise for the Quran, which was revealed by Allah SWT for His servants who affirm the Quran, for His servants who believe in the Quran, and for His servants who follow the teachings of the Quran, its guidance and clear, unambiguous arguments for those who understand and contemplate it. It is the Quran that proves the truth and opposes falsehood, the Quran that guides the misguided path, and the Quran that distinguishes between right and wrong, and between what is lawful and what is forbidden. So whoever is guided by the Quran, their life will be happy, and whatever they desire will surely become real and manifest.

ذَٰلِكَ ٱلۡكِتَٰبُ لَا رَيۡبَۛ فِيهِۛ هُدٗى لِّلۡمُتَّقِينَ

This is the Book about which there is no doubt, a guidance for those conscious of Allah. (Al-Baqarah: 2)

There is no doubt that the Quran is guidance for those who are pious. When you are anxious, return to the Quran, follow the guidance of the Quran. In the Quran, Surah al-Ra’d verse 28, Allah the Almighty says:

… أَلَا بِذِكْرِ اللَّهِ تَطْمَئِنُّ الْقُلُوبُ

… Unquestionably, by the remembrance of Allah hearts are assured. (Al-Ra’d: 28)

So it is not surprising that in the past, the companions were successful and blessed because they firmly adhered to the Quran. Abdurrahman Bin Auf, who had nothing but his clothes and his body, when he practiced the contents of the Quran, made the Quran his life guide and translated it with the Prophet’s guidance, he became the richest person on earth at that time. Sayyidina Ali Bin Abi Talib, who was extraordinarily brilliant after he applied the contents of the Quran, and Abdullah bin Mas’ud, the outstanding Chief Justice when he had implemented the values of the Quran.

It is clear and definitive that the Quran serves as a guide for humanity, directing human life to always remain on the path of Allah SWT. This is in line with the word of Allah SWT in Surah al-Isra, verse 9.

اِنَّ هٰذَا الْقُرْاٰنَ يَهْدِيْ لِلَّتِيْ هِيَ اَقْوَمُ

Indeed, this Quran guides to that which is most suitable… (Al-Isra: 9)

Therefore, the conclusion we can draw is that the Quran serves as a problem-solving guide that clearly becomes a guideline for all of us. Achieving success and blessings through the Quran, using it as a guide makes life more directed, while being distant from the Quran leads to a life of unease and anxiety.
