Want to Dream of Meeting the Prophet? Do This!

Majalahnabawi.com – Dreaming of meeting the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) is the hope of every Muslim. Indeed, a Muslim will gain numerous and tremendously noble benefits if they can dream of meeting the beloved Prophet.

The Benefits of Dreaming of Meeting Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him)

Among the benefits of dreaming of meeting the Prophet are dying in a state of husnul khatimah (good ending), receiving the Prophet’s intercession, and entering paradise. Additionally, Allah will forgive the sins of the person who dreams of the Prophet and the sins of their parents.

The person who dreams of the Prophet will also find it easier to face death, be free from the torment of the grave, and receive a guarantee of safety from the tumult on the Day of Judgment. Their worldly and afterlife needs will also be fulfilled due to Allah’s generosity. (Kaifiyatul Wushul li Ru’yati Sayyidina al-Rasul [18]).

Practice This Ritual!

Now, one of the rituals we can perform to dream of meeting the beloved Prophet is as follows:

First; perform ablution and wear clothing before sleeping.

Second; sleep in a position lying on your right side.

Third; before sleeping, recite Surah al-Shams, al-Lail, and al-Ikhlas. Each surah should be recited seven times.

Fourth, recite this prayer:

اللَّهُمَّ أَرِنِيْ فِى مَنَامِيْ رَسُوْلَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَاجْعَلْ لِيْ مِنْ أمْرِيْ فَرَجًا وَمَخْرَجًا وَأرِنِي فِي مَنَامِيْ مَا اسْتَدَلَّ بِهِ عَلَى اسْتِجَابَةِ دَعْوَتِيْ

Allâhumma arinî fî manâmi Rasulallahi Shallallahu alaihi wasallama waj’al lî min amrî farajan wa makhrajan wa arinî fî manâmî ma istadalla bihi ‘alâ istijabati da’watî.

“O Allah, make me dream of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), and make it a relief and a way out for me from my affairs, and show me in my dream evidence of the acceptance of my prayer.”

This practice is performed continuously for seven nights. As stated in the book “al-Mawaid fi syatta al-Fawaid” on page 24:

من أراد أن يرى النبي صلّى الله عليه وسلّم أو أحد من الموتى أو غير ذلك فليتوضأ وليلبث ثيابه ولينم على يمينه ويقرأ وهو مضطجع والشمس وضحاها والليل إذا يغشى والإخلاص سبعا سبعا ثمّ يقول (اللَّهُمَّ أَرِنِيْ فِى مَنَامِيْ كَذَا وَكَذَا وَاجْعَلْ لِيْ مِنْ أمْرِيْ فَرَجًا وَمَخْرَجًا وَأرِنِي فِي مَنَامِيْ مَا اسْتَدَلَّ بِهِ عَلَى اسْتِجَابَةِ دَعْوَتِيْ) يفعل ذلك سبع ليال متوالية فإن لم ير شيئا فليعلم أنه قد أساء فى أمره. مجرب صحيح. وقد أجازني فى قراءة هذه الفائدة -الحبيب عبد الله بن أبي بكر العطاس والحبيب شيخ بن محمد الحبشي.

“Whoever wishes to dream of meeting Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) or someone who has passed away or others, then perform ablution and wear clothes, then sleep on your right side and recite Surah Al-Shams, Al-Lail, and Al-Ikhlas seven times each while lying on your side. Then recite the following prayer: (Allahumma arini fi manami [mention the name of the person you wish to meet in the dream] waj’al li min amri farajan wa makhrajan wa arini fi manami ma istadalla bihi ‘ala istijabati da’wati). This practice should be done continuously for seven nights. If the person practicing this does not experience the desired dream, then know that there is something wrong in their life. This practice is correct and effective. It was authorized to me by Habib Abdullah bin Abi Bakar al-‘Atthas and Habib Shaikh bin Muhammad al-Habshi.”

This is the practice for dreaming of meeting the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) that we can perform. May Allah grant us the blessing to dream of meeting the Prophet.
